Student Support

The National Science Foundation has graciously awarded funds to supply travel grants for students (undergraduate and graduate) from U.S. universities interested in attending the conference. These funds will be divided among qualified applicants, with the exact amount of the awards depending upon the number of applications received by May 1. In the event of a large number of applicants, minimum award amounts will cover transportation expenses up to $400 and also cover the cost of registration, a dorm room, and meals throughout the conference. Special preference will be given to those students presenting papers at UCNC 2017 and/or students from underrepresented groups.

Applications must be emailed to Matt Patitz at patitz@uark.edu by May 1, with the subject “UCNC 2017 student travel grant application”. The application can be found below. Please note that the student’s research advisor must also email a short statement supporting the student’s attendance of UCNC 2017.

Notifications of awards should occur by May 5.
